I am pleased to announce that my first book, FORMERLY KNOWN AS FOOD, will be published by St. Martin's Press. The book is a critical look at the food system and food culture in America. It will detail how Big Food and Big Ag have undermined the nutritional quality of our food, added large volumes of untested chemicals, and how this is literally changing our bodies — from the womb to the microbiome to the brain. FORMERLY KNOWN AS FOOD will also delve into the cultural shifts that have accompanied the drastic changes in our food system, examining issues of race, class, and gender and providing new and exciting ideas for real change.
